75T BP HYBRID DIESEL AND BATTERY PROPULSION ESCORT TUG

CLIENT: SVITZER AUSTRALIA PTY LIMITED

VESSEL BUILT AT: ASL SHIPYARD, SINGAPORE

CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY: LRS

The tug operated from a berthing facility which happens to be a conservation area and hence it is not allowed to run a diesal engine. As a result it has to shut down at a designated distant point its diesel electric plant and switchover to a bank of batteries to proceed to its berth. Actual operation as a tug is still done in diesel electric mode.
